Gospel musician, Brother Sammy has opened up about his connection with football, revealing that he was once on the books of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

In an interview with Abeiku Santana, the controversial gospel artiste disclosed that he captained the youth teams of Asante Kotoko.

Brother Sammy named Stephen Oduro and Agaa Willie as some of his teammates at Asante Kotoko, revealing that there are photos of his days at Asante Kotoko at the Manhyia Palace.

“I captained the under-17 and under-20 teams of Asante Kotoko. I have forgotten, but anyone who has managed Asante Kotoko will remember me. Stephen Oduro, Agaa Willie, and others were my teammates,” he said.

In the same interview, Brother Sammy gave surprising advice to would-be couples, urging them to have some sexual engagements before officializing their union.

He argued that partners should fully understand each other, including their sexual compatibility, before committing to a lifelong relationship.

“You have to try it; you have to taste it! You need to experience what you’re going to be entangled with for the rest of your life,” he stated in an interview with Abeiku Santana.

Abeiku, who expressed shock at Brother Sammy’s statements, said, “I am so upset and disappointed that a gospel artiste would say this.”

In response, Brother Sammy defended his stance, saying, “You don’t want the truth.”

When asked if such opinions are appropriate for a Holy Spirit-filled gospel musician to express, he replied, “No matter how filled I am with the Holy Spirit, I still live in the real, practical world. I will come back to the physical and face life.”

The ‘Nations Worshiper’ also advocated for prioritizing childbirth over marriage, adding that children are less likely to abandon their parents compared to partners.

“I will advise the youth to opt for childbirth instead of marriage. Unlike marriage, the benefits of having kids are endless. Your children are not likely to abandon you someday, but your partner might,” he stated.
