I was robbed - Sherrif Quaye cries out

Ghana’s Sherrif Quaye (11-1-1, 6 KO’s) is gutted after his failure to win the vacant African Boxing Union (ABU) super lightweight belt against Morocco’s Mohamed El Marcouchi (19-1, 8 KO’s) last Saturday at the Hotel Palmeraie Golf Palace in Marrakech, Morocco.

The Ghanaian after putting up a spirited performance on the said night surprisingly lost via a controversial split decision to the Moroccan.

Two judges had it 115-112, 114-113 for El Marcouchi, while one judge scored it 116-112 for Quaye.

“I don’t know the lenses the two judges used to watch the fight, it was a fight i clearly won, it was a day light robbery i have suffered in Morocco,” Quaye exclusively told Sportscrusader.com from Morocco.

“I dominated my opponent, the referee ducked me one point but despite that i was ahead. I want a re-match because i know i didn’t lose that fight, i won it.”
