Ghana’s only athlete to have appeared at the Olympic games on three different occasions Rev. Osei Kofi has strongly signaled the Ghanaian football fraternity not to give credit to Avram Grant should Ghana win the trophy in Equatorial Guinea.
Rev. Osei Kofi explained that Avram Grant will make no positive impact on the team to claim credit for himself should Ghana emerge the eventual winners of the trophy and that Maxwell Konadu should rather be given that credit.
“Let me emphasize that I will never agree with anybody who credits Avram Grant with the trophy if we eventually win it”, the triple Olympian said.
“This is not hatred or jealousy but what has he done and what will he do before the tournament? All the players are at their clubs now and the longest period that we will get them is will be ten days to the tournament. So what at all will he teach the team to make them win the AFCON,” Rev. Osei Kofi quizzed.
The former Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak legend added that he will always credit assistant coach Maxwell Konadu should Ghana win the 2015 Afcon for there is no time for Grant to make any meaningful impact.
