Chief Athletics coach of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Albert Nukpezah, said he will step down as coach, if the incumbent president of the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), Professor Francis Dodoo, retains his position at the polls on November 15.

“Let me assure you that if really the incumbent wins again, I will step down because I don’t like his style of administration. He is involving himself too much in technical matters”.

“He is the boss alright, but we technical people should be allowed to select athletes, not he selecting athletes for the Association,” he told Starr 103.5 FM. According to Nukpezah, Professor Dodoo was always quick to perform the function of the technical team by selecting athletes for competitions, including the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The GAA is scheduled to hold its election on November 15, at the Conference Hall of the National Hockey Stadium, to vote for new leaders for the governing body.
