Under-fire Kotoko Chief Samuel Opoku Nti insists he won’t resign following mounting pressure in the wake of the side’s embarrassing exit from the CAF Champions League.
The ex-Ghana international, who took over from celebrated Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong, has come under criticism over his leadership style following the side’s 2-1 defeat to Algerian side MC El Eulma on Sunday.
Opoku Nti has been accused of lacking the pedigree and the know-how to transform the side into continental giants after another shambolic exit from Africa’s elite inter-club competition.
Pressure is mounting on the current chief executive to leave the post, but he insists he won’t jump the ship.
“This is not the time to give up, life is full of ups and downs, we must do all we can to bounce back. I won’t resign,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
Kotoko host Great Olympics in a delayed Ghana Premier League fixture on Sunday.
