Torino coach Giampiero Ventura singled out Afriyie Acquah for praise as he lambasted his team for the 2-1 defeat at Carpi on Saturday.
The Maroons looked a pale shadow of their impressive start to Serie-A to suffer only their second defeat thus far this season.
Afriyie Acquah who has been a pillar in Torino’s defence was surprisingly left out of the starting lineup.
The Ghana international however came on to great effect to almost score a goal.
Coach Ventura dug into his players for showing no fighting spirit which they’ve so been associated with this season.
He however singled out Afriyie Acquah for being the only one to display some grit in the defeat.
“Acquah did do well, he was the only player who could cover all the roles in midfield” he said.
Torino will now look to return to winning ways when they host AC Milan next weekend.
