Wolanyo Agra, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Sports Council (NSC) believes the International Olympic (IOC) ban on the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) will be lifted very soon. Speaking with a few media men in Accra, the man popularly known as "Koojay" or "Coachie" for his role as an ace coach, said “very soon the suspension will be over.”
According to Agra who has held very positions in sports, locally and internationally, Ghana has a good image among the nations of the world and the problem that led to the ban will be solved soon and that country's sports men and women should step up their training in preparation for the Olympic Games 2012.
Wolanyo Agra noted that this current sports season is very busy and efforts are being made for young coaches to be trained to become top technical directors with knowledge of international sports discipline.
He stressed that it is time the various sports associations get busy with programmes that will tap or unearth new stars. He urged the associations to be friendly with the media and feed the sports reporters with current stories, to be able to tell the world of their schedules and events.
He hinted that the National Sports Festival will come off as planned and it will be a platform for sports men and women to train well for the All African Games in September.
