Ibrahim Tanko to be stripped off Under-23 head coach role

The Normalization Committee are set to relieve Ibrahim Tanko of his duties as the head coach of the Black Meteors.

Tanko who doubles as the assistant coach of the Senior National Team will be stripped off his position as the head coach of the under 23 to concentrate on the Black Stars for the impending AFCON.

This changes will solve the problem he was going to face later in June when Black Meteors face Algeria in U-23 Cup of Nations the same time the Black Stars will be preparing for the AFCON.

Tanko wasn’t on the bench when the Black Stars beat Mauritania 3-1 on Tuesday due to his engagement with the Meteors as he was with the Black Meteors in Gabon.
