Subject: Emanuel "Ice Cold" Lartey Fights for WCB Regional Title in Newark, New Jersey, USA on January 19, 2013..

Under the guidance of manager/attorney Eric O. Darko and trainer Harry Keitt, Welterweight Emanuel "Ice Cold" Lartey, 31 (13-0-1, 7 KO's), the southpaw slugger from Ghana but now fighting out of The Bronx, New York, is on a roll, sort of.

In his first two professional years campaigning at as a Jr. Welterweight (2005-2006), Lartey, the former captain of Ghana's Amateur National Team affectionately known as the "Black Bombers," reeled off nine straight victories, five coming by way of a knockout. But as word of his prowess grew, fights became scarce as opponent after opponent turned him down. As a result, he grew more and more dissatisfied with the way his career was progressing and asked the Ghana Boxing Commission to help him dissolve his contract with his then manager. Three fights (all wins) from 2007-2009 just wasn't enough, not if he wanted to accomplish all that he had set out to do after compiling a 40-8 amateur record and a pro record that now stood at 10 straight victories with one technical draw. The commission agreed and soon Emmanuel Lartei Lartey was free to sign with Eric Okyere-Darko, an attorney practicing law in New York, who is originally from Ghana and had fallen in love with the sport of boxing at an early age. He soon opened his own gym in Woodside “Queens”, New York, Darko Boxing and Fitness Gym and began to immerse himself in the sport, all the while looking for talent. On a business trip back to Ghana, he was introduced to Emmanuel Lartei Lartey and quickly realized that he could help create the opportunities Lartey was looking for. Soon thereafter, Lartey entered the United States of America and resumed his professional boxing career with Lawyer Darko as his manager. Now, with three straight wins under his belt since arriving in New York, "Lartey," says Eric Okyere Darko, "is ready." Lartei Lartey agrees.

"I've been through a lot these past few years,’ says Lartei Lartey. ‘First, a lack of fights, then immigration (visa) issues and most recently a hand injury that also slowed me down’. But all that is behind me. I'm comfortable at 147 pounds,
