Assistant coach of the Sudan national team, Ignatius Osei-Fosu, has disclosed that a player from his team admired Jordan Ayew after their match against Ghana in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
In his narration, he noted that the player questioned why Jordan Ayew always earns Black Stars call-ups and plays most of the games.
In response, coach Osei-Fosu asked the player to wait and play against Jordan before drawing conclusions on the issue.
Speaking in an interview with Max FM, the assistant coach of Sudan indicated that the player who questioned Jordan Ayew came to appreciate his efforts after they played against Ghana in the AFCON qualifiers.
“One of the players told me that he saw Jordan at Crystal Palace and he was everywhere. He wondered why coaches keep picking Jordan because he does not see too much from him in games. So I told him that when it comes to Jordan, Baba Rahman, and others, I don’t want to talk about them because they are my personal friends.
“But when he plays against Jordan one-on-one, then we can continue the conversation. After the Ghana-Sudan game, he came to me and said, ‘Jordan is so good, if I were a coach, he [Jordan] would be the first person I would pick for his team,’” he narrated.
Meanwhile, Ignatius Osei, along with head coach James Kwasi Appiah, have qualified Sudan for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
