English Premier League leaders Liverpool have shown interest in signing Ghana star Thomas Partey, according to reports in Spain.
Partey, who starred in Atletico Madrid's 1-0 UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg win against the Reds, is believed to have been contacted by the club.
According to reports, Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing the Ghanaian to Anfield as back up to Fabinho, or as competition for Jordan Henderson and Giorginho Wildnadjum.
Liverpool have suffered three defeats in their last four games, and have missed captain Jordan Henderson, who is out with a knock.
Partey has a 45 million pounds release clause and has been on the radar of some English clubs including Manchester City and Arsenal.
The Gunners could trigger the midfielder's release clause in the summer.
And Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is said to be preparing life after Partey as he gradually brings Marcos Llorente into the team.
