Influx of foreign coaches not a bother - Didi

Ex-Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani says the Ghana Premier League is the new ‘Hollywood’ following the rise of foreign coaches in the country.

The Ghanaian top-flight has four expatriate coaches including Hearts of Oak’s Kenichi Yatsuhashi, Solomon Odwo of Berekum Chelsea, Medeama’s Tom Marcus Strand as well as John Killa of WAFA.

There are concerns about the rapid rise of foreign coaches in the country with claims it could signal the “beginning of the end” for aspiring Ghanaian coaches.

The Ghana FA has been called to stem the tide amid widespread fear the local league will suffer in the long term if tough measures are not implemented.

But Ghana Under-20 female team coach Mas-Ud Dramani insists there is no cause for alarm.

‘It shows how professional Ghana is, which is good, to bring in new coaches with their ideas. It helps in the development of our football,’ Dramani told Accra-based Starr FM.

‘England is a big nation. They are part of UEFA. But, still Mourinho is he English? There are many others who are not English, yet they are there working. Football has reached a level that you don’t say let me just work with my people.’
