Injury rules Awako out of Mzembe-Medeama clash

Ghanaian midfielder Gladson Awako will play no part in TP Mazembe’s CAF Confederations Cup opener against Medeama SC after sustaining injury.

Awako is currently in Ghana to treat the injury and will play no part in the first-leg match today in Congo.

The 25-year-old joined Congolese powerhouse Mazembe in 2012 from Ghanaian club Berekum Chelsea.

The creative midfielder has become a vital squad player for Mazembe during his four-year stay in Congo.
