Boakye has roamed on loan first at Sassuolo banging in the goals to aid their qualification from Serie B to Serie A in 2012/13.

The following season, Boakye strutted out his stuff at Elche in the Spanish Primera Liga before returning to Atalanta for the just concluded 2014/15 season.
