Ghanaian second-tier side Istanbul FC have set an audacious target of qualifying to the country's top-flight next season.

The Eastern regional team has impressed in the National Division One League so far, winning two games and losing just once.

The managed a 1-0 win over former Premier League campaigners Great Olympics which followed their impressive 2-0 win over hugely ambitious side Vision FC last week.

The Akyem Techiman-based side travel to Sogakope to face Roberto FC in a cagey encounter amid huge growing optimism.

Istanbul have been consistent in their Ghanaian second-tier, constantly making it into the play-offs without success.

But the club's president Erdal remains confident about their chances this term.

"We are playing well and we'll see how it goes at the end of the season," he said

"Indeed this season promises to be more exciting. If you look at the performance of the various team, it tells you that this year will be tough.

"But we have become masters in the Division One League over the years and we hope to make a better impression this time around.

"Of course we want to qualify but we're mindful of the threat posed by the other teams.

He added: We'll continue to work hard and ensure we attain our set target."
