The Food and Drugs Board on Monday alerted the public about the presence on the Ghanaian Market of an unregistered product, Dexamethasone tablets BP labelled as containing 0.5 mg of Dexamethasone.
A statement signed by Mr E.K Agyarko Chief Executive of FDB, said the label bears 02/J012 as its batch number, with 01/02 as its manufacturing date and 12/05 as the expiry date.
The statement said the product was allegedly produced in Ghana for Vision Pharmaceuticals of Accra adding; "The Board wishes to inform the public that Vision Pharmaceuticals does not exist."
The statement advised Pharmacists, Licensed Chemical Sellers and the public including individuals and business organisations in Ghana and neighbouring countries engaged in pharmaceutical marketing to desist from stocking and purchasing it.
