Ghanaian defender Nathaniel Adjei says FC Lorient's stunning victory over AC Ajaccio was well-deserved.
FC Lorient had a fantastic start to the French Ligue 2 season with back-to-back victories.
However, the team has encountered difficulty in maintaining the level of performance that was demonstrated at the outset of the campaign.
On Friday, Olivier Pantaloni's team overcame ten-man AC Ajaccio 3-0 at the Stade du Moustoir, earning their fourth win of the season.
Despite all that happened during a spectacular evening in Brittany, Adjei believed his side was ultimately worthy of victory.
“I think we deserved to win,” said the 22-year-old after the match.
“We forced them to make mistakes. Ajaccio were playing better in the opening 10-15 minutes, but after the red card, I believe we dominated the game.”
“Our performance was good, forcing them to make mistakes. When you consider everything you could observe during the game, I believe it was fair,” he deduced.
Adjei, who had yet another outstanding game, seems to have regained full fitness after playing at full throttle.
The victory propels FC Lorient to third place with thirteen (13) points from seven (7) games.
FC Lorient will play as guests against ASM Caen in Week 8 on October 5, 2024.
