It's not my duty to teach players how to score goals - Pollack tells critics

Kotoko coach Steve Pollack says it is not his job to teach players how to score following criticisms that his side's conversion rate is poor.

The club’s statistics, in terms of goals, leaves much to be desired as they have scored 20 goals and conceded 17 after match day 25 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

For Pollack how to master the art of goalscoring on the part of the players is not his job.

“The coach is not the one in front of the goal; the coach is not doing that. As a player, you have to take responsibility.

“So the next question is, what is the coach’s job at training? We [Kotoko] are not an academy, we are a premier team. You don’t learn things like that.

“In England, premier players have to keep the ball and have to shoot past the goalkeeper, you just put them in position and they have to do that. So it’s not actually our job to do that,” Polack said at a post-match.
