Italian newspapers are reporting that Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is in the country to complete his move to AC Milan.
This follows reports that the 31-year-old has agreed to move and is now waiting on the Serie A giants to finalize terms including wages and the nature of his move before confirming the deal.
Essien has been persistently linked with a move to the San Siro in recent weeks. His first team chances at Chelsea first-team are slim with plenty of options for manager Jose Mourinho in central midfield including David Luiz, Ramires and new £20m signing Nemanja Matic.
Essien has made just nine first-team appearances in all competitions so far this term and has reluctantly decided to leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular playing time.
