Ex-Ghana FA chairman Lepowura M.N.D Jawula says the Black Stars will require a technical director to excel at next year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Media reports over the consideration of appointing German Klaus Toppmoller as the Black Stars technical head is refusing to wash away despite the FA’s persistent denials.

Views have been divided on the latest stand-off but the former FA boss has urged the Football Association to appoint a technical head to aid the work of the ex-Asante Kotoko great.

“If we are going for a World Cup it is good that he (Kwesi Appiah) will lead us, but we can get a good technical director around him to correct him,” Jawula told Accra-based Joy FM.

“But if we say he should go by himself I don’t think it is the right thing. We are happy that Kwesi Appiah is a black coach and he is taken us to the World Cup so we will support him.

“It will be good if we will get some technical director or group around him; somebody he can talk to, but to say he should go all by himself I don’t think is modern at all.”

The Ghanaian trainer has insisted he is his own man has the ability to lead the country to achieve success at the global showpiece.

The Black Stars are on the verge of securing qualification after hammering Egypt 6-1 in a first leg tie of the play-off with the return fixture expected to take place next month.
