Belgian-born Ghanaian youngster Jeremy Doku doubled a brace for Anderlecht when they demolished Zulte-Waregem 7-0 in the Belgian Jupiler League on Saturday night.
The teenager, whose artfulness and flair on the ball has been likened to Real Madrid star Eden Hazard, scored a second-half brace as the Royal Club dismantled their visitors at the Lotto Park in Anderlecht.
Doku, 17, who is a one-time target for Liverpool, has now recorded three league goals in 21 appearances so far in the season and could score more.
He registered his first goal four minutes after the break when former Manchester City star Vincent Kompany set him up on the far left. The ball-wizard paced into the area with zeal before unleashing a forceful drive which beat the visitors keeper.
He scored his second goal in similar fashion as he raced into the area to pick the ball before darting it past the keeper for his second goal of the night.
The youngster then assisted former Tottenham midfielder Nacer Chadli to seal the win with the 7th strike on the 86th minute.
Ghana coach Charles Akonnor met with the player during his recent tour of Europe to meet Ghanaian players.
The winger told Ghanasportsonline.com in 2019 that he has not decided on which country to represent at senior level though he currently plays for Belgian at the youth level which doesn’t prevent him from playing for Ghana in the future.
