Black Stars defender, Jerry Akaminko has donated sporting equipment to the Saint Martins Senior High School in Adoagyiri in the greater Accra region as part of his social intervention activity.
Jerry Akaminko who led a group of colleague Black Stars players including Kwadwo Asamoah, Afriyie Acquah, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Prince Tagoe and other celebrities donated soccer jerseys, socks, football, rackets among others to the St. Martins SHS.
The donation was made after a charity football match dubbed ‘Densu Community Fiesta 2017’ was played to commemorate the charitable effort by Jerry Akaminko to give back to the youth at Adoagyre, Nsawam community in Accra.
Other celebrities including Keche duo, Lydia Forson, Kwaku Manu, Obrafuor, Bismarck the Joke and a host of others were present in solidarity with Jerry Akaminko hails from the Nsawam province.
The team upon arrival at the St.Martins SHS park where Jerry Akaminko has nurtured the team played a football match against the town folks.
Jerry Akaminko’s team which included the galaxy of stars lost 2-0 to the town folks who showed much hunger and tenacity to put a smile on their natives.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Torino star Afriyie Acquah says it’s always a pleasure to give back to the society, urging other players to do same.
“We are always in abroad playing for our clubs so whenever we get the opportunity we want to donate to the society where we grew from. It’s a nice thing because it shows that we’ve not forgotten about our past.”
