Ex-Ghana defender, Joe Addo has told Pravda Sports 93.5 FM that Asante Kotoko will feel the absence of Head Coach Maxwell Konadu if his reported deal with the Ghana FA gets through for him to assist Coach Kwasi Appiah in the Black Stars.

Maxwell Konadu has inspired the Porcupine Warriors to a record 22nd Ghana top flight title and the first in 4 seasons with four games to spare and already, some Kotoko players have revealed the exit of the ex-Wa All Stars trainer could affect the team’s success next season.

“They will miss him tremendously. He has been very good for them. He has had a lot of experience coaching Wa All Stars. He has done a lot of coaching exercises traveling all over the world learning his tricks and he has brought everything down to Kotoko,” Joe Addo said.

Despite his fears for Kotoko, Joe Addo is advising Maxwell Konadu to leave Kotoko if the Ghana FA makes him an offer to assist Kwasi Appiah in the Black Stars.

“Coming to the Black Stars will be a good addition to the country because I think the Black Stars is a bigger platform. In his first season as head coach of Kotoko, he has won the league and going from there to the Black Stars is a big step,” Addo told Pravda Sports.

The former national team defender added: “He will be assisting the Head Coach which will be a good position for him because he can be there and learn a lot and whenever he is given the chance to take over, I think he will have all the experience he needs.”
