Former Asante Kotoko defender Joseph Hendricks has stated the Ghana Premier League side lacks quality and matured players to compete with the rest of Africa.
The defender believes the CAF Champions League is a huge tournament and without experienced players, triumph in the competition would not come easy for any team. Hendricks made this comment following his former side’s shock elimination from the competition last Sunday by Algerian side MC EL Eulma.
“Materials for the CAF Champions have finished in the system and the ones available are not matured to excel in Africa.
“It is left with only young boys whose understanding of the game is low,” he told Fox FM in Kumasi.
The former captain of the porcupine warriors enjoyed league success with Kotoko but failed to make any impact with the team in Africa during his playing days.
