Former Black Stars striker Joetex Frimpong has started his coaching career at Swiss side BSC Young Boys.

The 29-year-old has taken charge of the coaching duties with the Under-12 team of Young Boys.

The former Enyimba FC striker had to end his career due to recurring injuries.

He joins the list of ex-Ghana footballers who have ambitions to handle top flight European sides.

Frimpong, who also played for Luzern in the Swiss Super League, is excited about his new challenge.

“It’s a new experience for me. I’m happy with the chance to learn the rudiments of coaching at Young Boys,” Frimpong told SuperSport.com.

“I’ve enjoyed every time spent with the other coaches and youngsters.

“Coaching is interesting and I’m enjoying every bit of this new assignment. I’m with the Under12 team.

“Young Boys gave me a massive opportunity to play in Europe and another chance to show what I’ve learnt as a player and coach.”

The Caf Champions League all-time topscorer hopes to make a huge impact in the coaching field.

“Coaching requires some level of confidence. My dream is to reach the top as a coach just like I did on the field.”
