John Boye grabs winner for Metz over

Ghana international defender John Boye was on target for Metz against Strasbourg on Saturday evening.

The Black Stars defender netted his first league goal for his team this term in the French Ligue 1.

The 32-year-old has been a rock in defense for the newly promoted side as they aim to remain in the French top-flight for another season.

The action-packed first 45 minutes ended without a goal with both teams squandering the few chances that came their way.

Boye pounced on a loose ball inside the goal area of the visitors following a corner kick in the 68th minute to snatch all three points of the game.

The host defended well after going in front preventing the attackers of the away team to grab an equalizer.

Metz won the game by a solitary goal to move out of the relegation zone thanks to Boye’s crucial goal.
