John Boye stars in Sivasspor's defeat

Ghana defender John Boye starred as right back in Sivasspor’s 1-0 defeat to fellow Turkish Super Lig strugglers Mersin Idmanyurdu.

The cultured centre back had to replace Brazilian Cicinho who was red carded in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Antalyaspor.

Sivasspor coach Mesut Bakkal Bakkal trusted the experienced Ghana international to slot in perfectly.

Boye has been one of the standout performers for Sivasspor this season.

The 28-year-old is the club's joint top scorer with four goals in 16 games.

But Sivasspor are now second-bottom with 12 matches to the end of the season.
