John Boye suffers injury

Ghana defender John Boye suffered what looked like a serious injury on Saturday at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The centre-back was taken off at half-time of the third-place playoff against Mali in Port Elizabeth.


The France-based player was replaced by Jonathan Mensah immediately after the break to partner Isaac Vorsah.

Tests will be carried out to determine the exact extent of injury.


His club Rennes will miss his services for their upcoming matches in the French top-flight if the injury proves to be serious.
