The chairman of Berekum Arsenal Football Club Alhaji Moro Has warned all local clubs to stay clear of their most precious asset John Paintsil. According to the indefatigable chairman, the utility player would soon leave for Israel to play for Maccabi Tel Aviz.
The international star, who just returned from a four month spell with Maccabi Tel Aviv where he had a wonderful season with the Israeli club, has stated that he is not in haste to sign a contract with any local club. He revealed to Space Sports that some big clubs from Italy , Spain and Turkey have contacted him for a possible move but he is taking his time to study all the offers but hinted that his former Israeli club would be his first option.
A painstaking investigation by Space Sports has, however, revealed that Tel Aviv is prepared to pay something over $200,000 for the signature of the player. Paintsil is currently in the Black stars camp preparing for a crucial group 13 match against Rwanda.
Paintsil is one of the many great players who were brought to limelight by Coach Hene, E.K Afranie. He was a member of the U 20 team that took the entire world by storm in the World Youth Championship held in Argentina in 2000.
