Jonathan Mensah triumphs in Ligue 1

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah emerged victorious over his international team-mate Jordan Ayew as the Black Stars pair clashed in a French Ligue 1 game.

Both players completed the entire duration of the game at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir as Evian Thonon Gaillard recorded their second straight win by beating a ten-man Lorient side 2-0.

Mensah was a pillar in defence as he jealously defended against a Lorient attack spearheaded by Jordan Ayew.

With Mensah’s presence, Jordan and his Lorient frontliners could not breach the visitors defence and their winless run further stretched to four Ligue 1 games.

But Mensah’s side made it two wins out of two after he scored to help his side win their first game of the season during mid-week.
