Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has been handed a huge boost as defender Jonathan Mensah declared himself fit ahead of the game against Tunisia on Monday.
Mensah, who came in for the suspended John Boye for Ghana’s second group game, played a fantastic game for the Black Stars – getting on the end of everything and blocking shots from the Cameroonians.
His injury after the game dealt a blow to Appiah’s defensive line.
After sitting out the game against Guinea Bissau, the defender is back in training and is looking very good.
“I feel very good now. I’m getting better and better now. I leave it for the head coach and the medical team to decide but I’ve been communicating with the medical staff about how I feel but everything is fine,” Mensah said at this morning’s press conference.
Ghana play the Carthage Eagles on Monday at 7pm GMT.
