Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew was an unused substitute on Saturday in the English Premier League when Crystal Palace entertained Aston Villa.
The Aston Villa forward made starts against AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United in the opening two games for his side but could not put in an impressive performance which saw him relegated to the bench for the visit to Palace.
Aston Villa however recorded their second defeat in three games as they were defeated by two goals to one.
Scott Dann opened the scoring for home side Crytal Palace after a goalless first half. Pape Ndiaye Souare then put the ball into his own net to bring Aston Villa back into the game at 1-1. Bakary Sako finished off the visitors with a late goal to secure a 2-1 victory for Crystal Palace.
