Ghana attacker Jordan Ayew is still without a goal in twenty league games this season after failing to find the net in Sochaux’s 2-2 draw with Valenciennes in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Since his loan move from Olympique Marseille to struggling Sochaux, the 22-year-old has played 563 (all in 7 games) but has failed to make the mark in front of goal.
With fellow strugglers Valenciennes on the bill on Saturday, the youngest of the Ayew brothers was expected to break his drought and find the back of the net, but it was rather his international team-mate Abdul Majeed Waris who stole the show on the night by hitting a brace.
Waris, who is on loan from Russian giants Spartak Moscow scored in the 51st and 86th minutes to ensure his side was in the lead, but Sochaux on both occasions equalised with Jordan not involved in any of their equalisers.
Though Sochaux boss Herve Renard has maintained confidence in him, it will be hard for him to make the Ghana squad for the 2014 World Cup as he has seemingly lost his scoring form.
Jordan was regarded as a prolific talent last season at Marseille when he scored over 10 goals in all competitions (7 of those in the Ligue 1).
