Footy-ghana.com investigations reveal that Marseille striker Jordan Ayew is very close to being axed from Ghana’s 25-man provisional squad for the 2013 African Nations Cup.
Our sources reveal that despite Ayew’s willingness to take part in the competition inspite of Marseille’s reluctance to release him, the Black Stars technical bench has taken the decision to exclude him.
Footy-ghana.com understands that the decision to exclude the 21 year striker was taken after Ghana’s 2-0 win over Malawi in the AFCON qualifying first leg in Accra a few months ago.
Also missing the cut is Sassuolo’s Richmond Boakye Yiadom.
The strikers chosen for the tournament are team captain Asamoah Gyan, CAF Champions league top scorer Emmanuel Clottey and Russian-based Abdul Majeed Waris.
