Jordan to return to Villa starting line-up after suspension

Jordan Ayew is likely to make an immediate return to the starting XI for Villa's clash with Everton.

The striker completed the final game of a three-match ban for his red card at West Ham when Villa lost to Stoke City on Saturday.

He will compete with Gabby Agbonlahor and Rudy Gestede, who came through the weekend game unscathed, for a place up front and boss Remi Garde admits he's got some making up to do.

"Jordan can be important now," he said. "In a period when the team wasn't performing, Jordan was playing well.

"He made a big mistake for the team (by inexcusably elbowing Aaron Cresswell in the Upton Park defeat) and I'm sure he will have to prove to his team-mates and everybody else in the club that he regrets his mistakes and do his maximum."
