New Tafo (E/R), Nov. 12, GNA - Joseph Daglo of Tafo Golf Club scored 145 gross to win the ultimate trophy of the 13th Annual UT Financial Service Tafo Open Golf Tournament Men's Scratch. Ernest Amalie also of Tafo Golf Club scored 148 gross to place second with Club mate Kwabena Yeboah scoring 150 gross to win the third place.
This is the seventh time that UT Financial Service is sponsoring the Annual Tafo Open Golf Tournament with this year's tournament recording an attendance of 61 golfers made up of 49 men and 12 ladies from various Golf Clubs throughout the country. In the Men's Handicap, Felix Kwashie of Tafo Golf Club chalked a net score of 144 to take the trophy with Akwasi Poku of Tema Golf Club scoring a net 148 to place second and Afriyie Nyarku also of Tafo Golf Club scoring 148 net to place third.
In the ladies scratch event, Vivian Kouame of Cote D'Ivoire scored a gross of 164 to win the trophy with Mona Myers-Lamptey of Achimota Golf Club scoring 179 to place second and Suzy Abaloo Kumassah also of Achimota Golf Club scoring a gross of 190 to place third. In the junior's division all the competitors were from the host Tafo Golf Club with Kennedy Amenya scoring a gross of 77 to win the scratch event while Vincent Atila scored 78 gross to place second. In the Handicap, Jima Yaya scored a net of 68 to win the trophy while Christian Nbii scored a net of 70 to place second. Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Chief Executive Officer of the UT Financial Services in his closing remarks gave the assurance that his company would continue to sponsor the Annual Tafo Golf Tournament. 12 Nov. 08.
