Ibrahim Fuseini came closest in the third semi-final but finished fourth in 21.01 seconds, narrowly missing out on qualification after a competitive race.
In the second semi-final, Marizuk Shaibu struggled to match the pace of the leaders and ended sixth, ending Ghana’s hopes of multiple representation in the final.

However, Amoah’s performance stood out as a moment of quality for the host nation, with the experienced sprinter once again stepping up on the big stage when it mattered most.
Ghana will now turn its attention to the final, where Amoah carries the country’s hopes of a podium finish in the men’s 200m, as the championships head into their closing stages in Accra.
