Jukwa SHS emerge champions in cross-country competition

Cape Coast, March 2 GNA - Jukwa Senior High School on Saturday caused a sensation when they collected the championship trophies in both the boys' and girls' divisions of the Central Region Schools and Colleges Annual Cross Country race held in Cape Coast. They bagged 21 points in the boys' division and 12 points to win the girls' division race. The competition which attracted a field of 500 participants in the boys division and 250 in the girls division was ran over a distance of eight kilometres and five kilometres respectively.

St. Augustine's School placed second with 42 points, Mankessim Secondary Technical was third with 57 points, Saltpond Methodist High School came fourth with 63 points, Mfantsipim School was fifth with 70 points and the University Practice Senior School placed sixth with 99 points. In the girls' division, Holy Child took the second position with 32 points, Wesley Girls High School was third with 54 points, Saltpond Methodist High School placed fourth with 70 points whilst University Practice was fifth 97 points and Mankessim Secondary Technical came sixth with 100 points.
