Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah reckons the Old Lady are up to the challenge after being pitted against English side Tottenham Hotspur in the round of 16 of the Uefa Champions League.

In their quest to rule Europe for the third time, Massimiliano Allegri's outfit will first host the Lilywhites on February 13 before travelling for the away fixture on March 7.

The last 16 draw was held on Monday.

"In the Champions League, Tottenham are a strong outfit who defend well," Asamoah told the club's official website.

"They got out of a strong group with good teams, but if you want to try to win the tournament, you have to be able to beat anyone.

"All challenges are difficult."

In the domestic league, defending champions Juve currently trail leaders Inter Milan by two points after matchday 16.

It was an interesting fixture on Saturday when the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at the Allianz Stadium.

"We want to win, this is our goal," said, Asamoah, who celebrated his 29th birthday on Saturday.

"Against Inter it wasn't easy, we drew the match but the season is long.

"We're thinking only of ourselves, there are many teams that want to win this year as in previous seasons, but we also play for the victory.

"We have worked hard to rediscover our unbeatable mentality, something that has always been a strong point for us.

"We previously conceded a few too many goals, but we've worked hard on improving that, and we can do more to be even better."

By his unfortunate injury history, the season has so far been kind to Asamoah, who has tallied eight league appearances so far.

"I feel good right now," the Accra-born added.

"I play with determination and I always want to show my commitment, I'm available to the team at all times.

"We need this in all areas of the pitch and all the players at their maximum levels."

With his current contract set to run out at the end of the season, Goal understands Asamoah is likely to leave Juve in January as the Old Lady risk losing him on a free transfer in the summer.
