Juventus are considering making a swoop for Udinese’s Pablo Amero as a replacement for midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.

The Ghana international will be away on national team duty with the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations early next year in South Africa.

The 22-year-old will be away for up to a month – in the likely event Ghana makes it all the way to the finals of the tournament which kicks off on January 19 and ends on February 10.

It will be a major loss for manager Antonio Conte as Asamoah has fitted in perfectly on the left-side of Juventus’ five-man midfield.

The ex Liberty Professionals’ player is one of the reasons why the Bianconeri are still undefeated in the Serie-A after seven rounds of matches.

The uncomfortable prospect of losing Asamoah has led to initial talks between the champions and Udinese over Amero’s availability.

Though nothing has been agreed yet, Juventus are expected to push ahead with the move as January approaches.

The ‘Old Lady’ are also keeping an eye on Atalanta’s Federico Peluso as a back up if Amero’s purported move falls through.

Asamoah only joined Juventus this summer from Udinese alongside teammate Mauricio Isla.

The Ghana international has however grown to become an indispensable variable in the Juventus’ midfield unit.
