Executive Board chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong, has officially apologised to Medeama SC for acts of violence perpetrated by fans of the Porcupine Warriors after both sides played out a 0-0 draw on Wednesday in Kumasi.

He told Kumasi-based radio station Metro FM that the incidents were unfortunate, adding that the behavior of his supporters was worthy of condemnation.

"It was rather unfortunate for such incidents to happen. I have spoken personally with the management of Medeama SC on the reactions of my supporters condemning their acts, but I must say if even we lose a match it is not even the end of the world.

“There should be stability in our behaviour because what transpired on Wednesday wasn't the best,” he said.

Dr. Sarpong bemoaned the fact that the club has to pay for the cost of repairing the smashed windscreen on Medeama SC’s bus, adding that even if there are concerns about officiating, this was not the right way to go about it.

Some Asante Kotoko supporters footy-ghana.com said in an interview said they have a score to settle with match referee Silas Okine after he called off a league match against Berekum Arsenal some seasons back because of the clash of jerseys.
