I was lying under my Grandmother Afua Poti’s Raybow tree in the Ankwaso Forest when I heard Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe open his wide mouth again. This time pontificating on the Kevin Prince Boateng’s purported resignation from the Black Stars for the time being.
His comments prompted me to let my biro talk after a long while. Thanks to technology, with my solar lamp and power and my modem I also went onto the web to find out what others were saying.
Wow the venom of soccer enthusiasts was nauseating so I am jumping to his defence on this matter and asking that all should exercise patience and employ Gameliel wisdom to see what will come of this matter. If it is of the Lord it shall stand if not disgrace will come upon whoever deserves it.
For me there is a good reason why this hard liner K. P. Boateng has made the shocking pronouncement.
The loud mouth all-knowing media now has a job to do. Anas Aremeyaw Anas and all the investigative journalists not leaving out the BBC’s Ibrahim Diarra should undertake a painstaking, thorough investigation and furnish us with the true facts.
Look! When the maestro, Abedi Ayew Pele made a comment of K. P. Boateng very recently on the future of the young chap, Abedi stated categorically that K. P. Boateng has a great future and he is destined and bound to be successful in his chosen career.
In my view somebody is the real cause of the young man refusing to serve Ghana now. It could be the new Serbian Coach, it could be some actions and inactions of the GFA, and it could be some attitudes of his playing colleagues or AC Milan or a combination of factors.
From under my Raybow tree I can smell something. In his defence, I argue; the young man is young, needs to hit the top in competition with players in the first team at A.C. Milan.
He is privy to what has happened to some dedicated players who played for the Black Stars who got injured while playing for the stars, those who dared challenge the actions of the GFA in the past and so on (thanks Kwesi Pratt).
Yes he is a quality player no doubt, but added to that he is extremely bold and knows what he wants and he goes for it. Look at his recent cracker (two goals) for A.C. Milan.
He has also gone through a lot in his recent and young career; Portsmouth, injuring the German captain Michael Ballack and stopping him from being at the world cup, the flak from Germany, switching nationality, injuries playing for the Black Stars through Genoa and then landing at A. C. Milan. All this has not been on a silver platter.
So like any young man who has wise counsel, this is the time to focus and build on where his passions drive him. Unfortunately, when he puts one on one together the focus must be at A. C. Milan for now.
But whoever caused K. P. Boateng to arrive at this decision tacitly or otherwise must be identified and roasted for the dogs.
The man is such a quality player and his actions before and during the World Cup was bold and fruitful.
There must be a thorough investigation for the good people of Ghana to be informed so that it will not happen next time to the new darling boy Adams Kwarasky or Agyeman Badu or even Dede Ayew.
I rest my case.
