All Teams Arrive for the Pre-tournament Briefing
Tournament Director, Richard Akpokavie conducted the pre-match conference for the 3rd KN Owusu Memorial Tournament on the eve of December 10, 2002 before the push-off of the big event on Wednesday December 11, 2002.
The meeting, which was attended by the vice Chairman of the GHA, Mr. Edward Awuah Nyamekye and the Treasurer, Ms. Elizabeth King was held for the Managers and Captains of the teams. The purpose was mainly to brief them and to afford them the opportunity to clarify some of the nagging issues before the tournament pushes-off. The managers presented the names of the members of their teams, the colour of their shirts, shorts and socks, and samples of their playing equipment.
The managers were in high spirit and very optimistic of annexing the magnificent trophy. They shared jokes and psychologically played on each other?s emotions as their first strategies ahead of the battle on the pitch.
Earlier, the Umpires Manager, Mr. Richard Abaidoo teamed up with the Tournament Director to discuss the tournament with the Technical Panel and officiating officials selected for the competition. The scheduling of officals for the matches for the opening day is as follows:
Match 1: Brong Ahafo versus Central ? Umpires: R. Attipoe and I. Sarkwah, with K. Tenkorang serving as the reserve. D. Lomotey will be the Technical Officer while G. Banson and Mrs. P. Mensah will be the judges on duty.
Match 2: Ashanti versus Greater Accra II ? Umpires: K. Ajao and G. Mensah, with R. Kudolo serving as the reserve. D. Lomotey will be the Technical Officer while G. Banson and Mrs. P. Mensah will be the judges on duty.
