Schalke 04 midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng has confirmed his absence from the Ghana squad that will lock horns with Egypt on October 15.
The former AC Milan player picked up an injury on Saturday when his side beat Augsburg 4-1 in the Bundesliga.
Boateng who scored the first goal told reporters ahead of a charity event organized by his club on Sunday that he will not take part in Ghana’s WC play-off against Egypt.
“Prince will not travel to join the Ghana national team.
“He has turned down all hopes to play for the Black Stars and will stay in Germany. His knee will have a medical examination during the next days,” this is according to Hassan Talib of Goal Germany.
Kevin-Prince Boateng missed Ghana’s last match against Zambia in Kumasi, also on the ground of injury.
