Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is thrilled with the new sanctions adopted by Uefa to deal with racism in football.

Players or officials found guilty of racial abuse could face a minimum ten-match ban under proposals by UEFA.

The European governing body have outlined plans to tackle the barbaric act of racism which has reared its ugly heard.

Boateng recently suffered racial abused during AC Milan’s exhibition game against fourth division side Pro Partia.

The Ghanaian international has hailed moves by UEFA to stand tough against the canker.

“The stance against racism must go down strong. I did everything I could,” Boateng said.

”Now I believe UEFA are on the right path to reduce incidents of racism,” he added.

UEFA has been criticised in the past for only fining national associations for racist abuse by fans.
