Kalusha Bwalya, President of Zambia’s football association has sent out a warning to the Black Stars ahead of the qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Ghana is housed in the same section with Zambia, Sudan and Burundi or Lesotho in the penultimate stage of African qualifiers for Brazil 2014. Kalusha refuses to state his country’s targets but insists they will be fired up for any opponent come the qualifying run beginning next June.

“It’s early days yet and we always have the respect for Ghana, we all know the Black Stars are tough, they were the best African team at the World Cup. “But you don’t choose your opponents and all I can say is that Zambia will not be afraid of any team, we will be ready,” Kalusha told PSLSoccergh.com when we caught up with him at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra.

Kalusha is quick to remind all that there are actually four teams in African qualifying group B, the winner of which will qualify into a last phase of ten teams who will all have won their penultimate qualifying group.

These ten sides will be paired against each other in 5 two-legged play-offs to determine Africa’s five representatives for Brazil 2014.

“I directly speak to Kwesi (Nyantakyi) because we are good friends. It’s a competition made up of good teams and we hope the African continent will be the winner.

“Don’t forget we also have Sudan in the group and they will also be tough. We respect Ghana but I’m sure Zambia will be ready,” the former Zambia captain and coach concluded.
