Karela United FC have bolstered up their squad with 8 new players before the second transfer window slam shut.
The Ghana Premier league outfit have embarked on wholsesale changes in a bid to transform their fortunes after enduring a disappointing start in the 2019-20 season (which has been suspended due to the CoronaVirus crisis).
Kingsley Osei Effah and Evans Owusu join the ‘Passion and Pride’ on loan until the end of the season from Asante Kotoko.
Former Ghana U20 striker Umar Abdul Basit has also been added from second-tier club New Edubiase United while Thomas Gyawu and Richard Berko move to Karela from Bekwai Youth Academy.
The rest are former WAFA midfielder Umar Bashiru (who joins from Wa Suntaa), ex-Asante Kotoko and Medeama player Bennett Ofori Ansu and Lawrence Owusu who join on a free transfer.
Karela United currently occupy the17th position on the Ghana Premier League log after their troubled start.
They have already hired veteran Ghanaian coach Evans Adotey to lead their charge to redemption and he will be assisted by Mallam Yahaya.
