Head coach of the Black Stars, Charles Kwabla Akonnor has stated emphatically that, it will be a mistake if he is to change the entire Black Stars team after naming his squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Akonnor announced his 23 man squad earlier today for Ghana’s AFCON qualifiers against Sudan slated for Match 27, 2020.
Speaking at the press conference, he reiterated that changing the entire Black Stars team he came to meet which was built by his predecessor, Kwesi Appiah will be a big mistake on his part.
He revealed that it was of that reason why he included some of the players who played major roles during Kwesi Appiah’s regime.
The former Asante Kotoko gaffer lamented keeping most of the players who played under then-coach Kwesi Appiah bounds down to continuity.
Ghana will host Sudan in the first leg of the qualifiers at the Cape Coast Stadium and travel to Sudan for the return fixture in Omdurman, Sudan three days later.
