The PRO of the Accra Hearts of Oak’s supporters union, National Chapters Committee, Paa Kofi Sunsum has revealed that the club’s former head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi was sacked after he fell in set trap.

The Japanese-American trainer reportedly resigned last year following bad blood between him and management of the club; he was accused of being insubordinate.

But the outspoken public relations officer of the Accra-based club has revealed that Kenichi was forced out.

“On the surface, one will think that he resigned but he was rather trapped by the strategic committee and he unfortunately fell into the trap,” Paa Kofi Sunsum told connect FM’s Benjamin Quansah Sports Night.

Kenichi Yatsuhashi took over as the head coach of the Accra Hearts of Oak in November 2015 and parted ways with the club in June 2016.

In a related development, Paa Kofi Sunsum said the management of Hearts of Oak led by Vincent Sowah-Odotei should be blamed for players’ refusal to extend their contract with the club.

The club’s captain Thomas Abbey, dependable back, Vincent Atinga and sensational forward, Kwame Kizito have refused to sign new contract with Hearts of Oak after their contract expired at the end of 2016/2017 league season.

The PRO claimed Vincent Sowah-Odotei was given the mandate to negotiate with the players but he failed.

“He was given the mandate to talk to the players but his lackadaisical attitude made the players furious and refused to extend their contracts,” he stressed.
