Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah admits the team must improve after their 1-0 defeat to Kenya in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The much-fancied West African succumbed to the shocking defeat after a Nicholas Opoku's own goal.

The defeat has ruffled feathers in Ghana amid calls for the immediate return of trio Asamoah Gyan, Andre and Jordan Ayew.

The team lacked creativity after squandering begging chances against the less-fancied East African side.

And Inter Milan man, Kwadwo Asamoah, who returned to the team after a four-year absence, admits improvement is key.

"We played so well and had a lot of chances which we could have won the game but we couldn't make it," he told Joy FM

"This is a wakeup call for us and know that now in football there is no country you can beat easily.

"The outcome of the game will also motivate us to improve going into our next game."

Asamoah climbed off the bench as the Ghanaian lost to the Harambee Stars.
